Math Symbol Toolkit separates publication, review evidence, and search indexing. A page can be available for navigation without being presented as deeply reviewed or included in the launch sitemap. This keeps useful supporting material accessible while reserving stronger claims for pages with recorded evidence.

What the labels mean

Core and reviewedThe page or tool has a recorded review date, method, verification scope, limitations, and named sources where external compatibility or mathematical claims require them.
Supporting referenceThe content is useful for navigation or lookup but has not yet completed every core evidence requirement.
Noindex supporting pageThe page remains available to readers and internal links, but search engines are asked not to index it until the quality gate is satisfied.

A label describes the recorded review scope; it is not a professional certification or a guarantee that every application, textbook, font, browser, or discipline uses the same convention.

How symbols are checked

Symbol records are validated for unique identifiers, Unicode declarations, names, aliases, categories, format mappings, related symbols, and required explanatory fields. Priority pages are compared against Unicode character identity and mathematical-use references. Visual similarity alone is never treated as proof that two characters are equivalent.

How formulas are checked

Core formula pages require variable definitions, assumptions, an explicit worked input and output, a distinct numerical example, at least three explanatory steps, a domain statement, a non-applicability boundary, common mistakes, an independent verification method, exact source identifiers, and a recorded review method. A formula can remain in the library while marked noindex if any of these requirements is missing.

How guides are checked

Guide gates check standalone search intent, task-specific sections, exact duplication, high body similarity, declared sources, review metadata, platform scope, and type-specific requirements. A software-input guide, for example, must record tested platforms and troubleshooting details; a LaTeX authoring guide must include usable source examples and rendering or error guidance.

How browser tools are checked

The five workflow tools receive the most prominent placement, and every index-eligible tool records its own review evidence. The primary workflow includes:

  1. Math Symbol Search — representative glyph, name, alias, LaTeX, Unicode, HTML, category, typo, keyboard, and zero-result queries.
  2. LaTeX Formula Editor — palette insertion, diagnostics, preview, snapshots, share restoration, and export formats.
  3. LaTeX Format Converter — renderer compatibility, HTML, MathML, text fallback, download, and invalid-input behavior.
  4. Matrix & Table Generator — delimiter detection, dimensions, ragged rows, transpose, environment output, preview, and export.
  5. Equation & Formula Solver — linear, quadratic, repeated, complex, identity, contradiction, parsed-input, coefficient-input, and residual-check cases.

Tool review verifies the declared scope. It does not turn a browser utility into a complete TeX engine, computer algebra system, statistical package, or professional engineering tool.

Dates and change records

The original publication date remains stable. The updated or reviewed date changes only after a substantive correction, new verified example, revised workflow, compatibility update, or meaningful expansion. A routine static rebuild, style adjustment, or regenerated footer does not justify a new editorial date.

Sources and citation scope

Source IDs resolve against a maintained catalog. Unknown IDs fail the build. A source is cited only for claims within its scope: Unicode establishes character identity, KaTeX documents renderer support, MathML Core defines browser-facing math markup, and an algebra reference supports standard equation methods.

Corrections

Every reusable reference page provides a correction link that includes its canonical URL. A useful report identifies the disputed statement or output, the expected correction, the environment or version when relevant, and a reliable source. Corrections are reviewed before publication; no response-time guarantee is implied.
